Getting a wheelchair

The Health Insurance House of the domicile county reimburses to each person with disabilities the purchase of a wheelchair, once every 3 years. If you have not received a new wheelchair in the last 3 years through the Health Insurance House, you have this right.

The file that you must submit to the County Health Insurance House for obtaining a free wheelchair must contain the following documents:

Following the submission of these documents, the application will be approved, according to the law, within 30 days. The decision you receive from the Health Insurance House is valid for 30 days, during which time you can order a Motivation wheelchair.

  • Standard application, available at the CAS headquarters or on the institution's website;
  • Prescription - the medical recommendation for a wheelchair, in original;
  • Copy of identity card / birth certificate (for children);
  • Copy of the identity card of the legal representative (if applicable);

* Sometimes other documents may be required. Therefore, it is recommended that, before submitting the file, you check with the Health Insurance House to which you belong the complete list of the documents you need.
